Scholarships for 2011 will be offered in late March with winners announced in May. Here is the information from the (past) 2010 scholarship offering:

Eligibility

To apply, you must be a CFCU member with all accounts in good standing, and a graduating high school senior, 19 years of age or younger. Children of CFCU employees are eligible and welcome to apply.

Requirements

1. Please submit a thoughtful essay with a title (double-spaced, two pages maximum). This year’s essay topic is: "How can you help your community through today’s economic crisis?". 

2. Please submit your transcript(s) showing all four years of high school, including all Honors and AP courses and your current GPA.

3. Please submit a list of your extracurricular and community activities throughout high school.

4. This year, you can also receive one bonus point for sending us a Tweet or a Facebook message with "Scholarship 2010" plus your last name in the message.

Scholarship Submissions

Scholarship submissions must include a cover sheet with the your name, CFCU member number, home address, phone number, email address, and the name of the post-secondary school you plan to attend. Submissions can be dropped off at any CFCU branch, mailed to Scholarships, P.O. Box 2069, Oakland, CA 94604, or emailed to scholarships@chevronfcu.org. The Credit Union will award the David P. Smay Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to each winning submission.
