Alert: Protect Yourself from Credit Union Impersonation Scams
Scammers are posing as Credit Union representatives, contacting members by phone or text to steal personal information. Their goal is to access your Digital Banking account and make unauthorized transactions.
Watch out for these common scam tactics:
- Asking for your username or password to log in to your Digital Banking.
- Requesting debit card details, such as the expiration date or security code, to make unauthorized purchases.
- Asking for your One-Time Passcode (OTP) to access your account or authorize fraudulent Zelle transactions.
What You Need to Know to Stay Safe
- We will never ask for your Digital Banking username or password.
The Credit Union will never request your login credentials under any circumstances. - We will never ask for your full debit card number, expiration date, or CVV.
Always protect your debit card information — don’t share it with anyone over the phone, text, or email. - Never share One-Time Passcodes (OTPs).
OTPs are meant for you - and you alone. If someone calls pretending to be from the Credit Union and asks for it, hang up immediately and call us directly.
- We will never call to ask for confidential information, except to verify a wire transfer you have initiated.
What to Do if You Think You’ve Been Targeted
If you suspect you've shared information with a fraudster:
- Change your Digital Banking password immediately.
- Contact the Credit Union right away so we can take immediate steps to protect your account.
